September 23rd, 2009 — crazygamers Despite the recent army of boycotters strongly protesting the upcoming release of Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2, the sequel and the original title it draws its inspiration from recently received relevant release dates (alliteration, num num num.)
In regards to the original, Valve has confirmed that Left 4 Dead “Crash Course,” the new DLC that will add an additional campaign/maps to both of its respective story and versus modes, will be dropping on Xbox Live Marketplace and PC on September 29th. This is great news considering the announcement was made over a month ago with no solid release date, but now in less than a week Left 4 Dead fans will have a reason to dust off their copies, assuming they’ve actually put it down to begin with. Also noteworthy is the fact that the Achievements for said game have been updated, as well as new tweaks to the HUD in-game. PC users operating via Steam will access this content for the low low price of McFREE (thanks to Valve), but Xbox users must plan to shell out 560 Microsoft points (in real world/not retarded terms, that’s $7.)
As for Left 4 Dead 2, a recent EA press conference surrounding tomorrow’s Tokyo Game Show announced that a demo for the game will be available on October 27th. I won’t use this as a forum to debate on the credibility of the sequel, but from what I’ve seen, this is reason for excitement. All I can say is I am looking forward to it, but if you’re not that’s fine. Just make it for a valid reason, such as time invested in Modern Warfare 2. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to boycott YOU, you dirty boycotter.
