July 31st, 2009 — crazygamers So what games are you looking forward to in 2010? You’re gonna have roughly 3905834983 of them, and the list is growing. After the recent delays of titles such as Bioshock 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction, Capcom has jumped on the bandwagon of delays and released word that they will be delaying their anticipated title Dark Void (originally scheduled for this fall, a September 22nd release) into…you guessed it, Q1 of 2010. Capcom’s Chris Kramer reportedly told Joystiq this was done “…in order to get the game out of the crowded fall game season.” That’s all well and good, but Jesus what’s going to be left for this aforementioned “crowded season?” Yes of course you have Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, lots of things that end with 2…along with original IP’s such as Brutal Legend, Borderlands and Bioware’s Dragon Age: Origins which all look fine and well, but if this continues (and don’t believe for a second that it couldn’t) we’re really going to be looking slim. What are your thoughts on this? Are publishers and developers being smart by delaying these games in order to “polish” them or what not, or do they just need to grow a set and if they know their game is good, release it no matter who the competition is? Many publishers and developers don’t even want to release their games within a 2 MONTH window of MW2’s release, and even though that makes sense it’s still ridiculous! Is this just going to be the year of Infinity Ward and the NVG’s or what!? Click here for the full story and feel free to respond with your comments/thoughts.
